As the summer sun fades and the crisp autumn air sets in, it’s the perfect time to embrace the beauty of fall with a vacation. But where should you go? We’ve got you covered with our top three fall destinations.

1. Seattle, Washington Seattle welcomes the fall season with open arms, offering a delightful mix of sweater weather, scarves, and, of course, coffee. But that’s just the beginning! Seattle boasts a plethora of landmarks, attractions, and quirky charms to keep you engaged and entertained.

Start your journey at Pike Place Market, known as the “Soul of Seattle.” This historic farmer’s market, dating back to 1907, spans nine acres and promises a vibrant experience like no other. Nearby, the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) invites you into a world of hands-on exhibits, iconic artifacts, and ever-changing displays.

For the adventurers among us, a visit to Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is a must. A short hike will lead you to some of Washington’s most breathtaking scenery, with fall foliage painting the landscape in vibrant hues.

And don’t forget the quirky side of Seattle! Visit the “Troll Under the Bridge” in the Freemont neighborhood or test your reaction to the famous “Gum Wall” near Pike Place Market. Whether you’re giggling or bewildered, these offbeat attractions add a delightful twist to your trip.

We recommend planning your visit for September or early October when the weather is ideal, and the rainy season has yet to begin.

2. Munich, Germany Munich in the fall is a vision of gold, with the city bathed in a warm, autumnal glow and leaves changing colors. It’s the perfect time for exploration and adventure.

For the best view of Munich’s Old Town, climb the 299 steps of St. Peter’s Bell Tower. Arrive early on weekends to beat the crowds and savor the panoramic vista.

Munich’s palaces are a treat in the crisp autumn air. Explore the Nymphenburg Palace, a summer residence for monarchs, or visit the awe-inspiring Neuschwanstein Castle, the inspiration behind Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle.

And let’s not forget Oktoberfest! Munich hosts the world’s largest Volksfest, a beer-fueled celebration of over 200 years. Enjoy regional delicacies, traditional dancing, and musical performances. For a more traditional experience, check out the Oide Wiesn area.

3. Oxford, Mississippi – The University of Mississippi Oxford, MS, dubbed the best college town in the U.S. by ESPN, offers a warm embrace of southern hospitality. Timing is everything; be sure to visit when the Ole Miss Rebels are playing football at home.

The Grove, with its majestic oaks and sprawling spaces, is a tailgating paradise. Expect fine china, silver, towering floral arrangements, and an invitation to join tents decorated in red and blue. Don’t miss the Zebra tent – it’s a spectacle!

Book lovers will feel right at home. Explore Rowan Oak, William Faulkner’s residence and a major source of inspiration for 40 years. Pay your respects at Faulkner’s grave, complete with a shot of his favorite bourbon, Four Roses. Then, visit Square Books for limited edition and signed literary gems.

And the food scene? Oxford shines here too, thanks to James Beard award-winning chef John Currence. City Grocery, Boure, Big Bad Breakfast, and Snack Bar are culinary delights, while Taylor Grocery, just 20 minutes away, has been serving mouthwatering catfish since 1977.
